An enthralling documentary following the life and work of Italian singer and composer Paolo Conte, Paolo Conte - Via con me tells the story of an eclectic figure spanning his 50-year career.
Delving into the labyrinth of Conte’s songs, including songs written for a wide range of performers including Adriano Celentano, Enzo Jannacci, Jane Birkin, Caterina Caselli, Bruno Lauzi, and that of his passions - jazz, puzzles, painting, law, the movies - the film is a continual exploration of the familiar and the unfamiliar, of the stories, verses and songs that make up the fascinating world of Paolo Conte.
Drawing on the immense stock of material in Conte’s personal archives, director Giorgio Verdelli combines it with footage shot for purpose: interviews, with friends and colleagues including Roberto Benigni and Isabella Rossellini, clips of international tours and other occasions in a unique career.
Narrated by Luca Zingaretti, this journey interweaves poetry and music through the songs, concerts, friends and reflections of the singer and is a must-see for music lovers.
